Why can't I taste the flavor in my vape?
Introduction
I vape, and I know it's not any kind of healthy habit. But I love it! The only thing better than vaping is the flavour of your e-juice. However, if you're like me and have been vaping for a while, you may have noticed that your taste buds have changed. Once upon a time, you could taste every nuance of your favourite juices... but now it's just all kinds of bland? What happened?
Taste changes after lengthy vaping
One of the most common reasons why you don’t taste the flavour in your vape is because your taste buds have changed. You may have been a smoker, or even had years of exposure to second-hand smoke. Or perhaps you’ve just had your palate dulled by eating lots of spicy foods and drinking coffee every day. Whatever the case may be, it seems counterintuitive that vaping would affect a person's sense of taste, but the truth is that it does!
The first thing to do is give yourself some time off from vaping for about two weeks and then try it again when your body has adjusted back to its normal state (or as close as possible). You should also take note if there's anything different about how you're inhaling when compared to how you were doing so before—for instance, if you've changed what device or nicotine level you've been using recently—as these things can affect how much flavor hits your tongue while vaping.

The device is the problem!
In order to get the best possible flavor from your e-juice, you need to make sure that your device is working properly. If the battery, coil or wick are not up to par, it can affect how much flavor is released during vaping.
Here are some things you should check:
Check your battery. Is it fully charged? Is there any corrosion on its terminals? If so, clean it with alcohol and cotton swabs until they are spotless before using again.
Is there enough e-liquid in the tank? You could have a leak somewhere if your tank isn't full enough when you try to take a hit from it!

You're using too much nicotine
Nicotine is a flavor inhibitor. It can mask the flavor of your e-liquid, which means you will taste less of it than you are used to. This can be frustrating if you are trying to figure out why your flavors aren't as strong or sweet as they once were.
Nicotine is also a diuretic, which means that it makes people thirsty—and by default dry mouth and bad breath. Nicotine levels vary from person to person; it's best to start at lower levels like 3mg and then work up from there if needed.
Something's up with your coil
The first step to troubleshooting your coil is to check the condition of your coil. If you have a build up of dust or dirt on your coils, it can affect the flavor and give off an unpleasant taste. If you’ve been vaping for a while and find that this isn't just something that comes and goes, then there may be something wrong with your coils
If you think this might be the case, try cleaning them with some e-juice or rubbing alcohol. You can also try changing out the cotton in them (you should do this every few days anyway). If you're using a rebuildable atomizer, then make sure they aren't too tight—this causes friction which leads to heat damage.
You don't have enough airflow
If you are using a tank or RDA, make sure that the airflow is open. This can be done by rotating or sliding the ring around to one of its most open positions. If you are using a pod device with pre-filled cartridges, check to see if there's an airflow slot on top of the cartridge. You may need to rotate this as well in order for it to properly deliver your e-juice into your mouth.
If all else fails, try another flavor! Our team has tried many different brands and flavors over the years and have found that some just don't taste as good as others. If one isn't working for you, try another!

Try some of these tips to get your flavor back
We recommend that you use a different coil. If the flavor is not coming through, you may have a bad coil, which means it needs to be changed
Change your wattage or voltage. Sometimes changing these settings can help bring out the flavor in your vape. If you're using too high of a wattage or voltage for your style of vaping, it might be causing excess heat that's making it harder for the liquid to taste good and burn evenly
Try some different juices from different manufacturers; some are better than others when it comes to producing flavorful vapours that don't burn up quickly!
Clean out your tank and make sure all parts are dry before putting them back together again; this will help prevent any kind of build up from happening inside which could affect how well your mod performs overall with regard to heating up liquids efficiently without burning them first (or getting them too hot)
Adjust airflow settings according to what type of vaper experience
Replace Worn-Out Coils: If you haven't changed your coil in a while, it may be time for a replacement to restore flavor.
Ensure Proper E-Liquid Saturation: Make sure the wicking material in your coil is fully saturated with e-liquid to prevent dry hits and enhance flavor.
Adjust Airflow Settings: Experiment with different airflow settings to find the optimal balance between vapor production and flavor intensity.
Take Breaks and Switch Flavors: Give your taste buds a break by switching to a different flavor profile or taking short breaks between vaping sessions to prevent taste fatigue.
Conclusion
If you’re having trouble with your vape, there are a lot of things to consider before you buy a new one. Be sure to check the device and coil first! If that doesn’t work, try reducing nicotine levels or changing up your flavor. It might take some trial and error, but we hope this article has given you some ideas to try next time your e-juice doesn't taste quite right.
